The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

During this partial government shutdown, Peterson and Schriever MTFs will continue to honor medical and dental appointments. Our patient appointing service is open and will still take requests for appointments. We are doing our best to minimize impact on our beneficiaries and their health care. All ancillary services (pharmacy, laboratory, radiology) will also remain operational. As always, safe and high-quality healthcare remain our priority. Jackie Wickham is the new Exceptional Family Member Program coordinator at the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Building 350, on Peterson Air Force Base. The Air Force added 35 EFMP coordinators this year to help Airmen and their families navigate the various agencies and services on and off base for children and adults with special medical or educational needs.
