Services Provided

We provide comprehensive dental care for eligible active duty personnel only.

Active duty personnel must receive a periodic dental examination to assess each member’s readiness status annually. Every effort will be made to have an exam and cleaning completed in the same day.

How to Make an Appointment

Appointments are scheduled by the Dental Clinic and can’t be scheduled or canceled on the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. First sergeants and/or commanders may be notified about missed appointments.

Urgent/Acute Care

We have same-day urgent/acute appointments available Monday through Friday to eligible active duty service members only. Please call to schedule an appointment.

If you’re experiencing severe pain after normal duty hours, please call 719-333-5192, and select option 4. You’ll be directed to the after-hours phone line and triaged to determine what care should be provided. .

If traveling away from your duty station and you experience a dental emergency, please visit the TRICARE Dental Program website for information about getting care. Make sure care received at other than a military dental treatment facility is coordinated with TRICARE.

Coverage for Non-Active Duty Members

Family members of active duty are eligible to enroll in TRICARE Dental Program. Visit their page www.tricare.mil/bwe to access the Beneficiary portal or call CONUS: 1-844-653-4061.
Retirees and their family members are eligible for Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). Visit their page www.tricare.mil/fedvip or call BENEFEDS at 1-877-888-FEDS (3337) for more information.

PCS / Retirements / Separations

Members will not be signed out until they are within five duty days of their final out day.
Please visit the dental clinic with a copy of your orders to complete your out-processing. Members can request one copy of their dental records prior to separation/retirement.

National Guard and Reserve Members

National Guard and Reserve members are eligible for readiness exams, but must be on active-duty orders for 30 days or more to receive routine care.

Dental Options Outside of Military Dental Clinics

Active duty service members get dental care at military dental clinics unless they are remotely located or experience an urgent issue while traveling. For dental care outside of a military dental clinic, TRICARE offers purchased dental insurance for family members. Additionally, retired service members, their families and certain survivors may qualify to purchase dental coverage through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program.
