Scheduling Annual Eye Exam

To schedule an appointment with the Peterson SFB Optometry Clinic please utilize the central appointment line. If you need further assistance the appointment line can transfer your call directly to our clinic. All follow-up appointments will be scheduled through the clinic directly. To reschedule your routine eye exam please contact the central appointment line.

Please note that our clinic staff are assisting other patients if we do not answer the phone, please leave us a voicemail and we will get back to you within 3 duty days. We highly encourage the use of the MHS Genesis Patient Portal as this will be easier to get in contact directly with our clinic. The Peterson Optometry Clinic has had a reduction in staff, so we are tending to other patients that are present at our front desk or have a scheduled appointment. We thank you for your understanding as we are navigating the reduction in staff.

Walk-ins

The Peterson Optometry clinic will only do walk-ins for the following items:

  • Visual acuity checks for IMR
  • Glasses pickups and glasses adjustments/repairs

Contact Lenses

If you already wear contact lenses, we may be able to update your prescription on a case-by-case basis. You must be able to wear or bring your contact lenses along with your prescription to your appointment. If you do not already wear contacts, we do not do an initial contact lens fitting.

Members on active flying status and enrolled in the Aircrew Contact Lens Program will receive an initial contact lens fit and subsequent follow-up care.

Ordering Glasses

Active duty personnel are eligible for glasses and gas mask inserts ordered through our military ophthalmic laboratories.
Retired personnel are eligible for glasses only. Retirees may order military spectacles with a current prescription from a civilian provider. Dependents in any category are not eligible for military procured eyewear.
Walk-ins are available for glasses fittings and adjustments Monday through Friday for:

  • Gas mask insert/glasses order (with current prescription)
  • Glasses repair and adjustment

Glasses Order Status

To check on the status of your glasses you may use the link below. Glasses will typically take about 1.5 month(s) to 2 months to arrive at the clinic and be processed for pick-up. You will receive automated emails informing you that your glasses are ready for pick-up upon being checked into the clinic. Please wait for all your emails before coming to the clinic unless otherwise stated by clinic staff.  If you have questions regarding your glass’s orders, please contact the Peterson Optometry Clinic directly through the MHS Genesis patient portal.
