Services Provided

The 21st Medical Group Laboratory provides phlebotomy and limited-service capabilities in hematology, clinical chemistry, urinalysis, immunology, and molecular testing to beneficiaries in the Colorado Military Healthcare System.

Testing

Testing not accomplished in-house are referred out to other military and civilian facilities for testing. In-house tests are usually performed and completed on the same day. Those that are referred out can take anywhere between 1 to 14 days depending on the complexity of the test.

Preparation and Results

Due to varying turnaround times for results, we recommend for patients to plan accordingly if a lab result is needed for an appointment. Tests requests for patients are entered in the electronic health system by authorized ordering providers.

If a lab test requires special preparation, please stop by the lab or contact us for instructions as directed by your PCM. Test results are returned directly to authorized ordering provider but can also be retrieved via MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.

Note: The laboratory is not authorized to communicate results directly to patients. If there are questions regarding interpretation of results, please contact your primary care team
