Influenza Vaccine Update

Flu season is upon us. We are concerned about your health and encourage everyone to get vaccinated annually against influenza.

It’s critical that everyone who is able receives a flu vaccine. It’s essential that active duty service members, active duty family members and other beneficiaries are well-protected from influenza.

Please see the guidance below for getting the flu vaccine here at Peterson-Schriever Garrison.

Active Duty Service Members (ADSMs):

Active duty and Guard/Reserve members are required to get the flu vaccine.

• Peterson-Schriever Garrison is currently out of flu vaccine without a current time of arrival for new shipments due to manufacturer issues.
• We highly encourage ADSMs to acquire their flu shots off base using the locations listed at the bottom of this guidance.  ADSMs must provide the clinic immunization department with the information listed below. Readiness Requirement deadline is 15 December!
• Upon receipt of new shipments of flu vaccine, notifications will go out and ADSMs can come to the immunization clinic on a walk-in basis.

When you get a flu vaccine from anywhere besides Peterson-Schriever Garrison, follow your Service policy guidance for recording the vaccine in your shot record. You'll need the following information to update your record:

• The date the vaccine was given
• The vaccine name or code
• Manufacturer
• Lot number

All Other Beneficiaries

• Peterson-Schriever Garrison is currently out of flu vaccine without a current time of arrival for new shipments due to manufacturer issues.
• We highly encourage ADFMs to acquire their flu shots off base using the guidance and locations listed below. Protecting your health has never been more important.

Find a Participating TRICARE Network Pharmacy 

You can get the flu vaccine at any participating network pharmacy at no cost to you as long as you get the prescription from the pharmacist. To find a participating network pharmacy, visit: https://militaryrx.express-scripts.com/find-pharmacy
Be sure to call the pharmacy before you go to ask:

1. What days and times can I get the vaccine?
2. Are there any age restrictions? (Not all pharmacies will give the vaccine to children)

For your convenience, the following list of in-network pharmacies within 10 miles of Peterson Space Force Base that we have confirmed carry the vaccine. There is only one pharmacy within 10 miles of Schriever Space Force Base and it is noted by *.
