In-Person Programs

Warrior Fit

Military can focus on physical fitness and nutrition for optimal level of performance and weight management. Participants will learn how to progress in all principles of fitness to reduce injuries while improving performance, learn the importance of choosing the right health foods for fuel and meal planning and receive individualized caloric recommendations.

Group Lifestyle Balance (GLB)

Military and Civilians can participate in this 12-week progressive weight loss class that provides education, encouragement and the tools to help folks in fitness, nutrition and lifestyle modifications.

Biomechanics of Running 

Participants will learn proper running form, foot strike patterns, cadence training and selecting the right running shoes as well as learn how to get started with running to include progression, training principles and injury prevention. Class will meet in the Peterson Health Promotion Classroom located on the 2nd floor of the Fitness Center and weather permitting, transition to the outside track.  Participants should bring water and dress appropriately. 

Sleep Hygiene

Sleep is King!  Participants will learn the causes & consequences of fatigue and sleep deprivation and describe ways sleep is related to performance, exercise, caffeine use, nutritional choices and energy levels.  Then strategies for sleep improvement will be discussed in order to help improve overall health.

Thriving Mind 

Who knew that being mindfully aware played such an important part towards our health!  Discover and learn about mindful awareness and how to use the connection between your body, brain and mind to improve your whole self.

Bod Pod Assessments

(Walk-ins only, Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and Thursdays 3:30 – 4:15 p.m.)

Accurate measurement of body composition to include lean mass, fat mass and body fat percentage.  Males must wear spandex shorts or speedo (no sports briefs, regular briefs, underwear or regular shorts). Females must wear spandex shorts & sports bra OR swimsuit.  (no underwire; shorts must NOT pass mid-thigh). No eating, drinking or tobacco use within three hours of analysis.

Functional Mobility Exercise Class

(Every Thursday from 6-7 a.m.)
Learn the importance of mobility and how it affects your ability to exercise and move.  Participants will perform correct form while moving through various correct mobility exercises.

Best S.E.L.F. (Active-duty Only)

Changing lifestyle behaviors can be difficult but not impossible!  The Best S.E.L.F class is a three-week course designed to help Active-Duty members learn how to make sustainable healthy changes to improve overall health performance.  Participants will discover the importance of a whole health approach in order to achieve health goals and maintain them.

Participants will receive a class participation link via email once they have been scheduled for a class.

Stress Management

Stress is a common part of life, however prolonged stress can have a detrimental effect on your health in numerous ways! In this class, learn how to manage your stress more effectively.  Techniques like relaxation practice, increasing physical activity, or changing your thoughts in response to stress can help you lower your stress and improve your readiness. 

Live Well, Be Well Monthly Series

(1st,2nd,and 3rd Wednesdays 12-12:30 p.m. & 5-5:30 p.m.; 4th Wednesday 5-5:30 p.m. ONLY)
Live your best life by joining our 30-minute virtual class that covers a variety of health topics!  Every month we will feature different topics geared to our four focus areas – Nutrition, Sleep, Physical Activity and Tobacco Free Living.  The more knowledge you have regarding your overall health increases your ability to Live Well Be Well throughout your lifetime!
